Elections

City elections are conducted under the Texas Election Code and are held annually on the first Saturday in May. The City of Decatur contracts election services through the Wise County Election Administration. The City of Decatur will hold a General Election on Saturday, May 2, 2026, to elect Mayor and Council members for Places 1, 3, and 5 (at large)

2026 City Elections

Mayor, Council Place 1, Council Place 3, and Council Place 5 will next be elected on May 2, 2026. the candidate filing period will begin January 14, 2026 through February 13, 2026.
